RENEWAL RENEWAL

Writing a website for Greece’s biggest ever urban renewal project

When a plan to transform an abandoned Athenian airport into Europe’s largest coastal park got the green light, it marked the start of the biggest urban renewal investment Greece had ever made.

The park – a mix of homes, shops, workspaces, and leisure sites – would set a new standard for sustainable living. But until it was built, a website had to tell its story. Franklyfluent’s task was to recreate the poetic tone of the original English website, writing for a Greek-speaking audience. Descriptions of the design philosophy behind the park, with influences from Greece’s past and the area’s natural beauty, were rendered in clear, flowing Greek.

With so much riding on the project, all eyes were on our writing. We worked with a range of stakeholders to make sure that our words created buzz and enticed investment to one of the country’s most crucial projects.
